Outside Inside was born on backcountry family camping trips. Once the site was picked, the tent was up and the fire was stoked, we'd inevitably find ourselves searching for fun new ways to bring the family together while enjoying the natural beauty surrounding us.
We’d bring along our favorite games from home, like cribbage, chess and backgammon, but found them to be bulky, with parts that were easily lost or damaged by the weather. So, we started making our own versions that were lighter, more compact, durable and easy to set up. We reimagined how these classic “inside” games could be played outside at the campsite.
We knew these adventure-tested games could bring families together for fun in the outdoors, just like they did for us. Two decades later, our mission is still the same: to help people of all ages and abilities celebrate the outdoors with games and gifts that inspire connection: with one another, with nature and with the spirit of adventure.
