How to pick the right climbing shoe for you
Sizing Climbing Shoes
I'm sure you've heard your climbing friend tell you to size way down and cram your foot into something 2 sizes too small and that if it really hurts, it's the right size. While there is a time and a place for aggressive sizing, if you're new to the sport, comfort should still be a priority.
However, climbing shoes do have a unique fit and there is a break in period as well. Starting out, you should probably begin a half size down from your street shoe size. Also, all brands fit differently. If you can, come in for a fitting. If not, give us a call and we'll help you figure out the right pair just for you. Remember, happy feet will let you spend more time on the wall.
European to US size charts
Not all sizes are created equal. In fact, there are more European sizes than US sizes to provide a more accurate fit.
1 Euro whole size = 6.6 mm = 0.26 inches
1 US whole size = 8.4 mm = 0.33 inches
